Who is NAMSTEEL?
Tom Ortmanns studied industrial engineering in Cologne and London and graduated with a degree in production technology. He supplemented this qualification with an MBA in strategic management in Salzburg before joining the family-owned Ortmanns GmbH for plastics and paper processing in 2004. The company is family-led in fourth generation and manufactures various technical goods for the automotive industry, among other industrial applications.
After taking over the company’s management, Tom Ortmanns strategically expanded its portfolio: As of today, he holds shares of numerous technical companies that are summarized in the Tom Ortmanns Group. His work focuses on supervision and consulting on both commercial and technical strategies, the optimization of production processes and change management.
Sven Koepchen studied mechanical engineering in Dortmund, after which he began as a trainee at Thyssen Edelstahl AG and was appointed Managing Director of Sales at Thyssen Edelstahl Service GmbH in 1996. In 2001, he moved to the Executive Board of Deutscher Eisenhandel AG, whose steel trading activities were transferred to Arcelor Distribution GmbH in 2004 and then continued under ArcelorMittal Distribution GmbH. There, he took over as Chairman of the Management Board in 2006. From November 2012, Sven Koepchen was responsible for directing Klöckner & Co. Deutschland GmbH as Managing Director while serving on the Advisory Board for other European companies.
Most recently, he was responsible for the European Processing Center as Executive President Processing Europe until December 2021. Since 2022, he has been Managing Director of Koepchen & Coll. Consulting GmbH, whose focus is on strategic management consulting in the field of steel production, steel processing and -distribution, among other things to improve or realign business models, product strategies and sales potential.
